I am looking to buy my first Kentucky rifle. I want an authentic rifle. I just love the history of guns and want that connection to the past. I want a a tiger stripe maple stock on it. It must be in good shape. All my gun purchases are also an investment. I like to buy quality and guns that look good. I have no black powder guns. This is all new to me. I am also looking for a Colt Navy for my Civil War time period. Any and all advice will be welcome. Thanks

If I we’re going to buy an original piece that I was to also fire; I’d want to see it in person. That kind of leaves you with going to gun shows. You might even get a good deal on one.

Maybe think about going semi- custom and have one built to your specifications; or even build a quality kit gun.

The lower gun is a .40 calibre TVM Natchez PoorBoy, that I ordered back at Christmas 2020; it arrived November of 2021

The upper gun is a .40 calibre Kibler SMR kit gun, with extra grade curly maple stock. It took me a little over a week to put it together.

The lower gun is another TVM made muzzleloader. It’s a .45 calibre Southern Mississippi PoorBoy.

Either finding a kit and building your own, or having your gun built for you…you are assured of getting exactly what you want…

Mike what part of Virginia are you from. I was at Dixon's Muzzleloading in Kempton Pa last week. It shouldn't be too bad of a drive from you to check out their large selection of used guns. I mean LARGE SELECTION!
