I’m looking to have a rifle built probably a York but I’m pretty open to others like a Lancaster, Virginia… any builders who aren’t too backed up to take an order?
What have you got?A budget and caliber would help. I know of a couple , but you better have a fat wallet. Depends on the decorations.
It would be better to shop around and watch Rock Island Auctions. They have a Wayne Watson rifle coming up this month that will probably go for $4-6000 plus 30% for various fees, but no wait.
If you can get to Knoxville this month there is a BP show. I might have something.
In my opinion, if a master gunsmith can build your gun right away, he's probably no too good.I’m looking to have a rifle built probably a York but I’m pretty open to others like a Lancaster, Virginia… any builders who aren’t too backed up to take an order?

I don't know how long the wait period would be, but you might call Jim Parker of Calvary Longrifles and find out. He does beautiful work. He is in Warrior, Alabama.I’m looking to have a rifle built probably a York but I’m pretty open to others like a Lancaster, Virginia… any builders who aren’t too backed up to take an order?
Brad and Sean Emig at Cabin Creek do excellent work. The rifle they built me is possibly the very best thing I own. But 2 things: It's Hallam, not Harlem, PA. And you will definitely have a wait.Try Cabin Creek Muzzleloaders in Harlem, Pa. near York, Pa. They do excellent work. They will make what you want down to hand forged hardware!
