I spent the weekend skinning out and old leather recliner. Now I have several yards of nice soft leather. I can only use so many bags and such. Would like to find a pattern for a vest. Simple because I am simple and have no experience sewing.

If you have an old shirt that's destined for the trash that fits you, skin it out for parts.

Then go down to the fabric store and get yourself some fabric that you can use later for cleaning patches, etc.

Use the old shirt as a pattern on the patch material, and just play with it until you get something you like.

When you have it figured out, use your cloth vest as a pattern for the leather.
