Hi,has anyone ever heard of this book? Are the sketches of the bags anything that could be used now?SKETCHES OF HUNTING POUCHES, POWDER HORNS AND ACCOUTREMENTS OF SOUTHERN APPALACHIA.By Jim Webb thanks, squib

I've seen it. It would give you a very good idea of what sort of bag was being used in that region. Seeing as I how I just flipped through it I really can't give you an in depth ananlysis though. I don't think there are any "patterns" in it.

I have a Jim Webb bag. He makes awesome bags.

I have the book and he gives you plenty of measurements of pouches that you can duplicate if you wish too. It's all drawings but the drawings are good enough to give you a clear idea of how they looked. Also, the book is a very interesting read in reference to what was used in the southern mountains and he also uses drawings and describes additional accoutrements as well. I've seen one of Jim's pouches that was patterened after one in his book.He makes great pouches and that one was no exception. Also, don't forget Madison Grant's book of pouches as well.
