Thomas

As long as it's not names like: "Set Woods On Fire" or "Give Me 30 Acres and I'll Swing This Barrel Around". :haha:

Go get'r done...

errr...in my case last season..."UNLOADED EVERY DAY WITH A BALL PULLER"

You do have to see a deer to shoot one.

man soooooo close today!!!! i wasn't in the stand 30 minutes and i heard a deer blow about 100 yards to my left. after a few minutes he started walking my way. the woods are very dry and loud right now ( getting rain as we speak thouhg) and i could hear every step he made. my stand is in thick beech and oak. the leaves are very slow to fall off this year which restricts my vision a ton!! about 65 yards to my left is a huge oak tree. i could hear him feeding on acorns and rubbing a tree for quite awhile. this was the first time i have had the pleasure of cocking my new TVM in hopes of getting a shot at a deer. i knew he was a buck from listing to him rub and i thought at any secound he would make his way to me. ahhh but the best laid plans, you know what they say! yup, he simply started to feed the other way and he wasa gone! i tried bleating but to no avail. man i wish i could have got a shot at him as i am taking some serious ass busting about carring a muzzleloader during regular season from my buddies! about 10 more steps and we would have really seen who was laughing at the end of the hunt! i love my flitlocks and thats that, i try to explain it to others but its very tuff to do. i will not carry another center fire rifle again as i just don't derive the enjoyment from them as i do muzzleloaders. oh well, maybe next week! good luck all.

sounded pretty exciting while it lasted. most people will never understand why a person would want to hunt with such a weapon. but, what if ya would have got him?? what would your buddies say???? flinch

Often times the joy of the hunt is not in the harvest but rather in the hunt itself. :winking:

currious what part of the adirondacks ya from?
I was born n raised in lake george/glensfalls area my dad had ran the surfside motel on canada street for 30 years or so. Sure do miss those mountains lots of deer

Igrew up north of Syracuse, on the shore of Lake Ontario. I too miss the NY autumn time. Fall in Florida just isn't the same.

i live in Fulton county (Johnstown) which is about 40 minutes from Albany. tons of heavily wooded land and mountains. lots of deer but lots of land also, can be real tuff sometimes to just see deer. lived here all my life so i know my area of woods pretty good. no better place in the world and if thereis i'll never see it cause i will never leave here!
