I'm a rifleman but do enjoy my 20 ga smoothbore musket/fowler/shotgun/whatever. A rifle simply can't do the job a smoothbore can. But the reverse in NOT true and a smoothbore can do what a rifle can do and do it pretty well.
I always hear this.
however I believe it is only true up to 50m.

One suggestion, to find odd size wads for rifle size smooth bores , is the paper wad punch. They will cover most bore sizes , for instance , 1/2 " is close to .50 cal. etc. . The punches can come in sets 5/16" up to 1 " , and above. Punch them out , a dab of glue will make the wads as thick as desirable. Load and shoot .

Not BEING A smart a but I have to say that .50 is 1/2" exactly not just close

I got the privileged to shoot a 28ga Fowler over the weekend. Ergonomics were way better and just felt good to use. I don't think I'm going to change anything about the Kentucky just sell it and get a smoothbore. I appreciate all the feed back.
