Well, this weekend, while at Fort Niagra, I ran into Jim Brown, Dealer in Loyalist Arms. He brought along 2 of their muskets, both Long Land Bess's, and he let me fire them.
let me tell you... sweeeeeeet!
I got 3 shots off in succesion, with no hang-fire, or Flash-in-pan stuff. The main difference between it and the Pedersoli I used that week-end was the weight, the LA gun being a full 10 lbs, which BTW, the REAL Bess's were. Another thing was the stock was still a bit thick in places, which I intend to remedy with a rasp and sandpaper when I get mine own gun. (Soon, soon!!!)
The wood looked very good, grain ran along the waist correctly. and the brass fixtures were all fine, nice banana lock. The Pan had a smaller 'bowl' to it, but that may help me to NOT over fill it.
