Who knows about Loyal Arms?
I have a buddy who just bought their east india pistol, but I've never heard of the company. their catalog looks impressive, but the prices seem too good to be true.
Anyone ever deal with these folks?

I got a heavy dragoon pistol from them about a year ago. They are good people to deal with, answered all my many questions while I was trying to decide on which pistol I wanted. My only complaint about the pistol is the trigger pull. It is very heavy, probably close to 20 lbs. I talked to them about it and they said that it is intentionally heavy to prevent accidents (probably to prevent them being sued). I have not had it reworked yet (I don't know how to do it), but intend to. Otherwise I am very happy with the pistol and would not hesitate to do business with them again if they had something I was looking for. :m2c:

There are many posts dealing with Loyal Arms or Loyalist Arms on the Forum.

Use the search button and enter the word "Loyal" in the top window.

These guns are made in India.
Of the posts I've read the guns seem to range from "I'm very happy" to "It's poorly made,... nothing fits..."
It seems to depend on the person who's talking and perhaps the model of gun being discussed.

Hello All,

All the guns I've seen so far out of Canada (Loyalist Arms or Military Heritage aka The Discriminating General)have been well worth the money. They are Indian, and the wood work is 90-95% of what you would find in a Italian reproduction :imo:

The problem is when somebody is expecting something like a custom built musket for a quarter of the price. They spark like the dickens, but almost always need a trigger job.

I seen 15-20 pound tigger pulls, new out of the box.

I can do my own trigger work, but understand that most don't want to tackle that job ( nor should you if you don't know what you are doing... :nono: )

You can find some of the same style firearms from Mddlesex Village Trading. I have heard many good things about them, their prices are fair, they take credit cards, and they are here in the US of A.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

DT

theres two reviews of their indian made first model brown bess here:

I was thinking of getting their 1690's french musket or doglock musket. Their emailed replies to my enquiries have been prompt and courteous.

Apparently the parts for their main line guns are made in India, and the final assembly and stock finishing is done in Canada. Also take into account that since they are basically handmade guns , there will be variations in quality and finish from gun to gun, although I pressume the final assembly in Canada thing is there to act as a quality control.

They also sell pedersoli guns and assemble rifle shoppe parts into guns.

Theres a post on the pre-flint forum about their doglock pistols.
