Brown Bear,
Even with a fair amount of gun work behind you I would still recommend buying one of the better books on building the flintlock rifle. The Gunsmith of Greenville County is good. The book will not be wasted. If you already own a GPR you know BP guns are unlike modern guns in concept or layout of the parts relationships.
Unlike most of the modern" books on gunsmithing, that concentrate on installing sling swivels, butt plates and checkering, the BP guides actually tell you how to build the gun from the ground up. With a good kit like the Lyman, you can skip a few chapters and go directly to the section on barrel, lock and trigger inleting.
Even the best kits are not "snap together" sets. You will require some tooling and precise woodworking skill.
I do not mean to insult you if you have these skills, only warn you that even the best kits require them. I think that even Musket Man said he put one together once, so just about anybody can do one.
Outside of that, I can say that in 35 years of doing business with Lyman I have never touched a product they endorsed that was not top quality.
