Lyman #542622

Does anyone use the traditional style #542622 Lyman minie designed for heavy charges?

I tried 90 grain 3f in a .54 cal Renegade 1-48 twist several years ago. It grouped real poor. Skirt blow out I suppose. Probably 2f and lesser charge would help.

One of the projects that I've wanted to try for a long time is a nominally .54 bore rifle set up for longer range target shooting. I'm pursuing that now with a .52 bore barrel but may use the 542622 with alternative plugs and patches in one that Mr. Hoyt rebored a few years ago.
Then again it might turn into a smooth sided minie for the .577.
