I am considering purchasing Lyman Great Plains Pistol Kit in 50 cal. What is the difficulty of putting one of these together if any.

smooth the wood to suit ya & apply a little finish, same for the barrel, put it together & go shoot.

Just follow the instructions.
It's not a Saturday night 4hr job.
It's Friday-Saturday-Sunday,, and maybe a little Monday morning.

Built one in .50 a couple of years ago. They go together well with little extra inletting. I browned the steel parts. Take your time and it will look really good. My stock had really nice figure so I finished it without stain. Stain is a personal choice but do what Zonie does and wet the wood to see what it will look like and then decide.

BTW, it's s good shooter.
