The Lyman barrels are 15/16" across the flats. I feel you need at least a 1" across the flats to safely bore to .62 cal. That being said the Lyman barrel would make a fine 54-56 cal. smoothie :grin: I've been contemplating having this done myself.I've heard good things about Ed Rayl and his work. Good luck!!
 
If you figure that a 15/16 barrel is 0.9375" and you wish to rebore it to 0.620 cal, that leaves only 0.1587" to a side, which is only 5/32" barrel wall thickness. NOT MUCH! :stir:

there was a spanish company that made 12ga bbls for t/c hawkens and renegades. don't know much about them but never heard of anybody gettin' blown up from usin' one. for what it's worth and have a good'en friends, bubba.
