About ten years ago a friend of mine that shot blackpowder had a stroke and has been in a nursing home since. Viet Nam vet and a great guy. He gave me all of his muzzleloading stuff and this stock was included. He did not know what brand it is. I posted pictures and got input that is a Lyman Great Plains stock and probably English walnut. Nice looking walnut and you can see one repaired chip and a smaller one at the tips pf the patchbox inlet. No cracks.
