I just bought a bag of 50 cal. 420 gr. Shocker bullets.
Anyone on the forum ever shoot them in a 1/48 twist barrel? If it will stabilize, it should make one heck of an Elk or Bear round.

Tried them in either a TC Hawken or a Greyhawk several years ago. Don't remember the precise load. Do remember they didn't group well. Think I was getting flyers. Had better luck with 350 Maxi Hunters in my 1:48 barrels.

I wasn't swabbing between shots, at the time. Maybe they'd have worked OK if I had.

Thanks Bob! I use maxi hunters in my T/C's and they like them. I ran across a bag of these today at my local gun shop, and decided to give them a try, if this rain and snow will let up  If they don't shoot well , I'll melt them down and make Lee Real bullets, and balls

how do the 380gr real bullets in 54 cal do for hunting, they are not hollow point but then again neither are round balls and they work nice. I have some I ordered from cheep shots but if they shoot well I may order the mould. Just wondering how they do on hunting?
