im thinking about buying a plains pistol and wondering what size of cap do they use?i order my supplies every spring but probally not buying a pistol until summer.any feedback on the pistol good or bad thanks

Use #11 caps. As far as the pistol, I have one in .50 cal., and highly recommend the gun!

#11 caps. Good gun to acquire. have seen them group well with the right load.

Very accurate pistol. 30grains pinnacle3f and a .490 PRB= dead paper plate at 30 yards!

I have the plains pistol in .54 caliber. It is a VERY accurate firearm, provided that you keep it clean. The grooves are shallow, and if you let them foul, you will find yourself shooting groups the size of a pie plate at any distance. Swabbed between rounds, it shot every bit as well as my S&W .357s.
