This is a wonderful condition type 1 Austrian Lorenz rifle musket. Hundreds of thousands of these were imported during the Civil War for the federal army and the Confederate army.
THis one is mechanically functional with a 54 caliber barrel. All parts are original. The barrel was possibly shortened to 37" in length? There are several wormholes in the stock on the butt but it does not jeopardize the integrity of the wood. The metal has a even light brown gray appearance with no real pitting. The bores in very good condition with strong rifling.
Please see the pictures for overall condition. This would be a wonderful display piece to any Civil War collection. Please feel free to reach me for any questions.
Asking $1500 shipped here.
