made a new knife

i have been at a buddys place making this knife blade its a pice of 12c27 high carbon stainless i did it by stock removel,the steel was already taperd from the spine to the cutting edge so it was just grinding it to shape it is 8"long x1 9/16"wide, it was then harden it to 56hrc and then tempered it, my buddy did the hardening and tempering it is razor sharp and holds an edge,the handle is cape lilac crown branch with a cherry red stain,the blade is glued in with devcon. the pin in the end of the handle i turned up in my big electic drill useing files .

I like that alot reminds me of a hunting knife in one of my books. great job on it.
 
thanks guys i am well pleased with it the pics dont show the true color of the handle,heres an other pic to give an idea of its size.

nice work Bernie, outside of the s/s blade that knife would be nearly an authentic repro of an American Mountain Man's blade.
