Made another Kuksa/noggin. This one is from a piece of cherry burl. The burl was from a long dead cherry and, unfortunately, had a lot of insect damage. I'm not sure that it will hold a liquid - we'll see - but I learned a lot when I was making it.

Depends...
Hot and cold - oil (even vegetable oil).
I read somewhere that others do the following - Once a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year, then yearly.
I apply as much as the wood will hold using a toaster oven to help it penetrate, and re-apply as the wood looks "dry".

Cold only - beeswax.
