Hello - new here. I have got a hold of a 12ga percussion shotgun that is marked ' made in Italy' -- it does not have a makers name on it at all. It gives a load of 89gr. Blackpowder and 1 1/4oz. shot also on the bottom of the barrel. There are also some proof marks on the barrel.
One of my questions is on the chokes. It has those screw in ones. How can I go about finding info on these to get more or even what these are choke wise??
Any help would be great .. oldbadger

You could measure your ID with a calipers and do some research as to what choke tube you have by cheiking the net and search it or someone here may have a link or know what you have by your dim's. Also did yyou look on the out side of your choke tube to see if there are any marking's ?

Sounds like it may be a Pedersoli which are very good shotguns. My 10 ga. Pedersoli is marked 109 grains and 1 1/2oz. on bottom near breech.

According to the mfg. sheet on adjustable chokes,there are two parallel lines at top and bottom of mouth of choke tube; rotate so that you are seeing it this way, with additional line(s) at two o'clock. Now, with regards to the lines at two'oclock;

1 line Extra-full
2 lines Full
3 lines Modified
4 lines Impvd Cylinder
5 lines Cylinder

You may go to the Pedersoli web site for more information. www.davide-pedersoli.com

I thanks you Sirs -- it is a Pedersoli with a modified and an ' Extra Full ' !!!! made in 1998.
Why would one want an extra full --- Turkey maybe ?

What would be the chances of using steel shot or one of the other waterfowl shots in this gun ??

Thanks for the help -- oldbadger
