Even though we don't have any snow I decided to take my 11 month old beagle pup Dolly out for a run. She's been coming along real good and gets better every time she go's out. She brought this one full circle back to me to meet a load of 6's from my 20ga. flintlock fowler.

Just for grins I dressed the rabbit with my Dennis Miles Buffalo knife. It made short work of the job.... five whacks and the head and feet were off... the hide slid off easily and then zipp... from crotch to neck and the job was done.

No job's too small for a big knife. :haha:

Great Work!
I'll bet we could drop you off somewhere in the Rocky Mountains in 1825 and you'd make out just fine.
Enjoy the Hassenpfeffer! I love it smoked!

I'm about 40 years too long in the tooth to live off the land in the Rockys :haha:

Mountainmen that lived as many winters as I have died in a town. :shake:

Nice and how are you cook'n'em!

I like to chicken fry my rabbit. After a salt water soak I cut into 7 pieces (split the rib cage), flour, and brown...cover and cook on low until done.....Gravy from the drippins to go over rice or potatos. "Laripin" as Festes used to say

Excellent job! It's always good to get out and stretch the legs, but bringin' home meat is a bonus! :hatsoff:

Nice job and great pictures! I love chasing bunnies with my longbow and wood arrows.
