Just send it to me for a couple of months. I can age a pistol like you wouldn't believe. Heck most of them don't even work any more when AI get through with them.

Real cool site! I allready put in my favorites for futher refrences. I can see the point but, I can also see myself having a hard time beating up my new pistol! :rotf: :rotf:

When all was said and done....it looks like a modern pistol that has a false history and abused. Brass frame so it is a small loss.

I'd have to agree. It doesn't really look "old" to me - perhaps it's the brass, which is wrong unless you're a Confederate, and even then is unusual - and of course the CW pistols didn't look old when their owners were using them for serious purpose until at least after the first campaign season.

I like originals with the marks of history on them, and I did ask for the appearance of about 20 years of use on my Bucks County rifle, but this one leaves me cold.

Better luck with yours. Just use it a lot, and you'll get honest patina on it.

I artificially aged an 1860 Army and took it to a gun show to carry around amongst the widow-skinners. I laughed every time a dealer chased me down and asked "Got something for sale there?"

When they caught on, they were ticked!

I picked up a Pietta 1860 Army for a song, and steel frame of course!

Someone beat the hell out of the wedge key area, but it is only cosmetic. My point is, it already on it's way  I will strip the blue, and strip the wood.

I will destress the grip, and some areas on the frame and barrel. I want a pistol to shoot, that looks similar to an aged original.

I agree, the brass frame on the pistol in the article gives it away, and does not do it justice. With an all steel frame tho

This project will be done with photos right here on this forum

These look cool!

New guns that look old! Similar to these new old guns shown here.

Although some of you have seen it before, I'll toss my Schneider & Glassick into the pot.

It was "aged" using bleach, ammonia, black powder fouling and a bit of scraping and tapping on the grips.

Had I known about JiminTexas's services I might have used them but I think even he would have some stiff competition from the bleach.
That stuff works FAST

That is believable looking aging on your guns. Maybe YOU should have written the above article and showed your pieces. Very artistic, Mulebrain.
