Making black powder

I searched around on this forum and did not see much on the subject. Some like to make their own rifles and I would like to make my own powder.

Has anyone on list rolled their own? I have supplies and a book on it coming my way. Any Federal/State laws I might be getting crosswise with would be nice to know about also.

Years ago I tried making some and it came out terrible.

I speak partially for the forum and I would say we don't want to get involved in passing that kind of information here. The only way to mix it well is wet, and the drying process can make it unstable if done improperly.

It is an explosive and I do believe it is illegal to manufacture, even for your own use. Check the BATF website.
