Yeah, I do make my own wads. What gauge are you looking for? You can get a hole punch from Harbor Freight and punch out your own. Example: for 20 ga. wads purchase a 5/8" punch.

I'm going to start out simple just a over powder wad oiled,, then shot then a card
I have a bunch of oil tanned leather hanging around, pieces that are too big to throw away, and too little to do anything with. So I make over powder wads from these scraps. For over shot wads, I just wad up strips of paper napkins that I scam from my favorite coffee shop.
 
A small order from Duro-Felt plus plenty of old leather/felt scraps I have laid by are plenty for the modest amount of smoothbore shooting I do. With two different sets of punches I can punch out more card wads than I really need. Most of the stuff can usually be found around the house.
