If your in the Carlisle area next weekend, stop by the Army Heritage Center (exit 49 off I-81 south or 48 off I-81 north) and check out the Market at Washigntonburg 18th century living history event, Sept 19th - 21st, 9-5 each day. Besides military demonstrations by French and Indian War and Rev War units, we will have tons of craftsmen and demonstrators. If you didn't get to Dixon's you will be able to see many of the same folks at this event (Allen Sandy - gunsmith, Bill Slusser - Gunsmith, Art Decamp - Powder horns, Roland cadle - Powder horns, Joe Scott - knives) and about 70 other demonstrators and muzzleloading crafts people. There will be lectures, a parade for General Washington, a military court martial and a whole bunch of other surprises.

Oh Yea, ITS FREE ADMISSION AND PARKING!!

Schedule of events is posted at the website under the "Market at Washingtonburg" banner: Army Heritage Center

Hope to see you all there!

We've just added Ceol Nemih Bagpipe Marching Band to the event. This is one of the top award winning bagpipe bands in PA. They will be performing Saturday at 10:30 and 2:00 pm. Hope you all can make it.

We will also have a demonstration of the Ferguson Rifle by renowned gunmaker, Ernie Cowin, on Saturday

wow! that sounds like a great time. We need some more events here close to me ..Wish I could be at your Rondy for sure!

Wow - that sounds like a great event! Is this something that will be held again next year? Unfortunately I have another obligation for this year. I wish I could be there!

It was a great event and there are plans to hold it again next year. A good selection of vendors (many familiar from Fort Frederick) and a nice cross section of 18th c military and civilian campers and demonstrators. Highlight was a behind the scenes tour of the archives and artifacts held at the Army Heritage Center. A great research center open to the public & a lot of outdoor replicas running from a Vietnam era fire base to WWI trenches to F&I blockhouse. Worth a visit even without an event onsite.

Thanks Coot!

Thought I'd throw some pics on of last weekends event. We had a great event with over 8000 people attending!
