Its that time of year again. Market at Washingtonburg in Carlisle, PA is just around the corner, scheduled for Sept. 18-20th, 2009. Last year we had more than 100 different demonstrators, craftsmen and sutlers as well as well as 20 different lectures and more than 150 18th century troops. If you represent a tradesman, sutler, soldier or longhunter from the mid-to-late 18th century and would like to attend, go to www.usahec.org and click on the link for re-enactor signup.

Thanks,

GBJ

This years event is racking up to be bigger than last year. There are still a few spaces for sutlers/demonstrators and we would love to have more 18th century troops and longhunters.

Please send me a reminder--I want to take Bryce to this years event---He is now 8 and really likes these events.

Bunky et al,

The MAW is just two weeks away! We now have more than 100 demonstrators, gunsmiths, sutlers, and others. If you want to shop for that special horn, gun or bag before the season this is the show!

See you all there.

My son and I attended today and had a great time. Beautiful weather, great event, friendly folks, and lots of demonstrators.

Talked to a fur trader from the Hudson Bay Company. Showed me his camp and trade goods. Visited a wagon master who was eager to tell me all about his Conestoga wagon. Had a nice conversation with some soldiers manning a supply station on the trail to Fort Pitt.

Even brought home a nice Banded Southern Horn that I didn't even know I needed!
