Just to confuse the unwary, this is NOT in FREDERICK MD. It is at the Fort Frederick State Park, about 40 miles from the city of Frederick. Full directions & info are on the linked site.

Mrs Coot & I will be there - our first outing as vendors - Blue Cat Buttonworks (custom cloth/thread buttons - a Mrs Coot specialty) Come say hello!

Will do. I've been using the fair as a source for hard to find stuff for several years & now the park is dog friendly it's an even better day out. :v

I'll be there camping with Rogers Rangers. There will be a live fire competition so bring your smokepoles. Last year we had a competition post shoot. I think we had 4 teams competing shooting at landscape timbers.

Were you guys there last year? ( back by the woods about 1/3 of the way in along suttler's row)
If you were I'm a customer. :v

I'm glad someone from that shoot posted here.
Is there a qualification, or membership requirement to participate in the BP shooting down at the end of the exhibits?
I was thinking of perhaps bringing the '58 Rem revolver, is there a pistol range/match?

Hey, everyone the missus and I will be there, this is a annual event for us,we camp by the upper parking lot near the place called morts fort. stop in and sit a spell, the fire will be a going and refreshments will be possible.A Appalchian Hunter

I've never been there but can't wait. My wife and I are coming for the day and I wanna make sure I look up some of you guys that are on here all the time. Will be nice to meet you all. :v

From what I have experienced in the past the main requirement is that you show up with a safe firearm. This is an F&I period event so caplocks and revolvers are not allowed. All of the shooting that we did was with Flintlock Rifles or smoothbores. A lot of the folks doing the shooting are members of Rogers Rangers so we are shooting Besses but we had non-Rangers shooting with us. The Rangers put on the shoot and furnish the range officers. We camp right next to the Forts gate. Come on up and ask for information on shoot times.

Thanks, Many. As the only BP gun I own is the '58 rem I won't be shooting though.
I'll look forward to visiting with all of you anyway.
