This is a very good and well maintained example of an 8 gauge SxS Market Gun. It is unmarked as to maker. Both metal and wood are in Good+ to VG Antique condition. There is a crack in the left side of stock running from trigger guard to lock that has a brass nail in it. Crack stops at TG mortice. Otherwise, the wood has only minor age related dings. The metal is equally Good+ to VG. The 29.75" twist steel barrels are tight with light pitting in bores. While I have not shot it (Too much time and expense for something I plan to sell) I believe it is very shootable, in my unprofessional opinion. Rib is tight. Some scroll engraving on breech, locks, triggerguard, and hammers. The engraving on hammers is different and is either due to replacing one or sloppy assembly at factory, something I have seen on other Belgian guns. This beast weighs in at around 16.5 lbs. The Belgian ELG in oval proof means a pre-1893 gun, so this ANTIQUE ships direct to buyer. A very impressive piece. Payment by USPS Money Order or Cashier's Check only. Your chance to impress your friends and intimidate waterfowl. Asking $1200 SHIPPED.
