My matchlock kit from The Rifle Shoppe arrived today. All I can say is "Wow", this thing is huge. The cast parts are very good quality. The stock is walnut and is well made. Looks like it's going to take some time to assemble, but doesn't appear too difficult. Stock has barrel channel and scouring stick channels already done. I will have to inlet for the tang, lock,, and some final inletting, but there's not a whole lot to inlet really. It's got a trigger lever so the inlet for that is not much more than a simple slot.

My only gripe is there are absolutely no instructions whatsoever. I realize most kits don't come with instructions either, but it would have been nice to at least get instructions on how to assemble the lock. I've found some drawings online that will help me, so am not too concerned that I will have problems.

I will take some photos when I get started but that is not going to happen until at least winter. I've got too many round the house projects to get to before I can turn my attention to the kit.
