Gary was that offhand? That's some fine shooting! And Mike too, you boys are really raising the bar.
The Penny's not an easy target surrounded by all those zero point opportunities.
That was my offhand target 😌 Going to shoot it benchrest on Monday. That new .32 rifle has a heavy barrel and hangs real steady when shooting offhand!

I would like to join in. Shot this today. 25 yds sounds easy till you stand there trying to steady that bead. Forgot to write on the target that the charge was 50 grains by volume. Great fun.

Man, you guys are killing it! Nice shootin’!
Will reshoot it tomorrow afternoon if every thing goes right. Not expecting anything like y’all have been hitting though. Will be concentrating on not dry balling this time, lol!

Here's my entry for the rifle portion of the May target. I tried several sight pictures to hit the penny with only partial success (and the red dot didn't help much at all). What I am posting below was shot with my .50cal. Lyman GPR cap lock using .4885" RB's that I cast + .018" pillow ticking patches wetted with 1 Ballistol : 6 water. The powder and charge was 50gr. GOEX/Graf's FFg.

Note: Just as I wouldn't take my pinned bbl. flintlocks apart after each range session, I'm learning to do the same with the GPR since it's shooting so well. I.e., I clean at the range and will recheck and oil the bore, etc. in a little while.

I shot the target with Garypl and another friend this morning. I tried it with a revolving carbine and a revolving pistol. I was pleased with the revolving carbine although I could have held a little lower. It was a fine morning here in Georgia.

I was going to shoot the penny again with my .54 rifle but I forgot to bring a file to cut the front sight down - shoot @3-4" high at 25 yds. So I decided to just plink a bit and compare loads.

I disqualified my first target earlier this month by shooting it 10 times so I had to try the piggy again. This is an exciting target. Since I printed only one chance, it actually elevated my heart a bit...So good to be alive and to be shooting!

The shot at 9:00 o'clock at the edge of the penny might look questionable, but it was well in the penny before I blew out the hole with the following shots. I yield to the judges decision though.

Folks, I've been reading this site for quite awhile. How do I get into/register for the mail shoot? My Zouave needs some work out! Thanks in advance.
Hi BuffaloSoldier,

Welcome - you can shoot the monthly postal mtches by simply downloading and printing the targets every month and follow the instructions. After you shoot your target take a picture of it with the laod details and post it to the thread. I tabulate the results ebery month and list the scores. It's all for fun and doesn't cost anything and you only win bragging rights!

Gary
