I will be down at Boonesborough. Id rather do a trade fair in a Lincoln log fort and do some interpretation of what actually happened there than a bunch of made up stuff that didn't happen......

Vincennes is a nice place to go as a spectator, but it is very intensive on the male participants. Morning colors, weapons inspection, memorial for fallen comrades, weapons drill, early battle, more weapons inspections, afternoon battle, colors, It is just too full of a schedule. If you don't have a camp full of women to do your cooking, its hard to function. There is very little interaction with the public since you are always in formation or marching somewhere serving as a spectacle for someone with a less than perfect understanding of history blathering about into a microphone somewhere.

If I didn't have to work on Sunday, I think I'd head to the Boonesborough fair. It will probably be better attended than the Son's of Liberty affair but at least I can do some live firing and leave in time to get to work on Sunday.

Just got back from the Vincennes rondezvous. Never been to a rondezvous like that before. It was PACKED. It approached Ren Faire levels of carnivality. There was some weirdness walking around, not too bad, though. All they lacked was the turkey legs... Oh, wait, they had those! :haha: I had a good time, though, and bought some stuff I "needed". Now.... Boonesborough tomorrow?????
