:sorry: :sorry: if this is off topic, but after seeing so many PA folks here, and a game officer too, maybe one of them could shed some light on the patch below.

Maybe for some Scout conservation project? Did the Valley Forge trail a few times- part of that maybe? The memory ain't what it used to be. I've had it since the late 60's and can't find any info about it anywhere else.

thanks
vic

Vic the patch you have posted is an old patch issued to boy scouts for their work in conservation, kinda like a merit badge. It's no longer used by the PGC and is pretty collectible in the right circles. Hope that helps. Rick

Make that verry collectable in scouting circles. Alot of adult scouters are patch collecting nuts. As a retired assistant scoutmaster I've seen a lot of patch collectors. BJH

Adult Scouters aren't the only ones bitten by the collecting bug! The Pennsylvania Game Commission started a patch series in the mid 80's called, "Working together for Wildlife." It highlights a different species of wildlife each year. That project has taken off like a cat afire!
The early ones are sold out and rare as hen's teeth. Some are bringing over $1,000 on the secondary market!!! :shocking:
Perhaps Vic would be interested in parting with his treasure....

Thanks for all the info Rick. I was wondering about it and had absolutely no idea or recollection how I came to have it in my collection. Must have been part of a conservation project during a Valley Forge trail hike, or maybe something I traded for back in the ancient times.

Well, now that I KNOW what it's for and that $1000 price tag   and seenig as I can't remember how or why I came by this one, I might be encouraged to part with it for a fair price, and since I have no clue as to rarity or monetary value I'm open to offers.

Seems only fair (in my sick and twisted mind) as Mr GobblerKnob has a connection to the Game Commission, he should get first refusal.

I appreciate your sick and twisted generosity, Vic! I'm not a patch collector, but I might be able to find out what that fair price is yer looking fer! I'll be in touch. Rick

I forgot about Pa.Game Comission's yearly patches. Even though I get one every year. :p I just thought in terms of Scouting from the expierence of taking two Council contingents to NOAC (National Order of The Arrow Conferance) Talk about a patch trader's paradise! My son and I did our share of trading :) All my patches go to him any how. BJH

Vic ~ My contact tells me the patch is probably worth in the $10 - $20 range. Hope this helps. Rick
