Thank you. I understand that, on Memorial Day, we fly the flag at half staff...full honors and so on..Hank

Claypipe - Is June 3rd Condederate Memorial Day? I remember my Dad and Grandparents telling me Confederate Memorial Day used to be widely celebrated in the South. Kids would decorate veteran grave sites with flowers and little Conderate flags and such. Like many, have ancestors that fought on both sides of The War Between the States.

May God bless the souls of all our fallen veterans, including those on both sides of the Civil War.

Thats interesting.I was borm on may 30.I remember when I lived in Florida for a short time as a kid I didn't get my brithday off.I thought I was getting screwed. So what your saying is May 30th. is a Union Day of morning and June 3rd. is the Confederate day of morning. :hatsoff:

Memorial Day is actually on Memorial Day this year. Oh, and it's moUrning, not morning. I hadda say that.....

And many thanks and prayers for those who served and returned and prayers for the families of those who didn't.

Vic

In Florida, Confederate Memorial day is April 26, so designated by a state statute. I think it's different dates in different states.

Peace and honor to all the fallen vets, and to those who came home...

Memorial day, The start of the summer season for alot of america. But to men and women who have served the cause of freedom. It is a most solemn day of rememberance to those who have made the supreme sacrifice. Freedom is not free it is paid for by the best america has to offer. This memorial day I will not be celebrating. I will be remembering, and if we do have a cold one this weekend.Serve one up for the soldiers, sailers, airmen, and marines who are still out on eternal patrol. Till we all meet again at the great rally point.
