Metal Blackening Solutions

We have solutions for blackening Brass, etc., but is there any such thing for blackening or "bluing" modern chrome plating? Wondering as sometimes one comes across a firearm that's been 'chromed' for parade use or such.

Flat black Krylon spray paint … and even that will come off, LOL! You definitely need to strip THAT finish before anything else.

The only thing I know that sticks to chrome are mosquitoes and bugs …
