Alrighty you knife makers, I want a metal stamp to mark steel and brass. Sort of a touch mark or maker's mark... Who and where can I get one and at what price should I expect to pay??

Thanks

Ditto!

Simple ones can be made, but I'm not up to letters or a sitting fox...

The first ones I made look like :barf: :barf: :barf:

Harbor freight has them I think they are about 10 buck that is what i use to maker my blades. i do it hot to get it alitte deeper impression

Not really looking for letters or numbers, thanks though

You´re looking for a master mark like jaegers used to have it, huh?

Fine idea!

I was reading an article about a fella that makes his own. You simply file "u"'s and "V"'s into the ends of drill rod, harden it and there you have it. The operator then uses the marking tools just like brands on cattle. Alot of folks think brands are like one chunk of iron that you heat up. Sometimes they are but often they are made up of several irons used in combination.
Just a suggestion of course, I use a engraving tool to engrave the image I use. My other buddy uses a dremel to grind in his initials in cursive. Still others use a 5v power supply and a Q-tip to etch the steel.
Anyway, there's my thoughts.

Hi Roy, you might ask the question in the knifemakers area of bladeforums. Those guys will help you out as many of them use custom stamps.

Thanks all, I will let you know how it works out

I sent out an e-mail to them, just waiting for a reply
