I went out to play with the new toy a crocket pistol in 32 cal. I seem to get the best most accurate group from 12 grains of 3f. Is this enough for a squirel? The pistol will shoot Prb w/a 10" barrel? the max is 20 grains but my shots were all over with that load.

Keep the squirrels close and you'll be OK. I've killed many a squirrel with a pellet gun but not farther than 15 yards though.

I wish I could find some ballistics tables for the crocket pistol and the great plains pistol. I do not own a cronograph. so I am hopefully going shooting today and will dial up my 2 new pistols. I have found maximum loads are not all that accurate like all over the place.

Buttonbuck,
My Lyman manual has specs for the GPP. Not sure about the Crockett pistol. I'll have to look. Gotta get back to work right now. I'll PT ya later.

took the great plains 54 out and sighted in and the crocket a few strokes with a mill file for each and wow nailing 2" squares at 20 yards. Anyway got the crocket to shoot nicely with max load of 20 grains and wow it shot through a hacked up piece of door, figure to be at least as strong as squirrel hyde. watch out limb chickens.
