Okay, I've researched the Glossary of Muzzleloader Terms and I've done a general search of threads, without success, and now I'm thinking m a y b e my question isn't as dumb as I thought it was.

What the heck is the difference? Are these terms for conical-shaped projectiles that are used interchangeably?

Thanks. Don

True mini bullets have a hollow base with a thin skirt that expands to fill the rifling when fired. Maxi Bullets are normally solid based with a bearing band that engraves the rifling when loaded.

Well, there we go. Thanks! I've probably been hunting with a muzzlestuffer for too many years not to have known this.

As an aside to a fellow Oregonian . . . my brother and I drew 100M1 and 1200M1 tags this year so we'll be hunting deer and elk together in November in the N. Indigo unit.

Don
