It's certainly not the biggest hog I've ever taken but it's the 1st one with a ML. Actually it's the 1st of any game I've taken with a ML. That .490 RB makes a devastating wound in a little hog!

Good shooting and nice pig. I hope I can do the same in autumn this year.

Did you hit a bone or what was the cause for the big hole? My roes hadn't big holes neither with RB nor with maxiball.

I call these pocket hogs. I prefer them over the monster pigs, easy to pack out, tastes better, and again, easy to pack out.

Well Grey Whiskers you can only get bigger from here on out!

Way to go

Doesn't look to be more than 15-20 lbs on the hoof, be lucky to get about 8 lbs of meat off of it. (No offense)

Congratulations! Sounds like BBQ at your place for the 4th for sure! I hope to get to get some game with a front stuffer this fall...

I shot one of them that size a few years ago. I thought it was alot bigger though, sure looked like it through the 9X scope. Anyway my oldest son and I ate the whole thing in one sitting over the BBQ pit, sho am good!

Thanks all.
It was a good late afternoon hunt with a friend. He was using one of those new fangled center-fire rifles and missed 3 shots. :blah:

Dirk, I'm sure we can find some big hogs this fall. This one was mostly hidden in thick stuff about 10 yards away. I'm guessing it weighed about 40 lbs. Looking forward to trying a PRB on a larger hog. GW

Hey GW,

Congrats on your ML success!

Ya got the rub soakin' in yet? Heck, from 10 yards, he's already got the special Blackpowder seasoning... Is the fire ready?

Fine start to the '07 huntin' season! :hatsoff:
