MLAIC Pacific Zone Championships

The MLAIC Pacific Zone Championships are being held August 13-15 at the Barrie Gun Club, in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. If any forum members are in the area & would like to see what International Muzzleloading is all about, this would be a great opportunity. The majority of the competition will be shot on the 13th & 14th with the possibility of some shoot-offs, etc. on Saturday (15th).

I'd love to be there and watch.

Just an observation, not many of us Yanks consider Ontario as Pacific anything. Just seems a little odd. Would have expected some exotic place, or somewhere on the Northwest Coast.

Yeah, I get that alot. The championships are called the 'Pacific Zone' because they are open to the countries that fall into the MLAIC's Pacific Zone.....Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, & the U.S.A. The location of the shoot is determined by which member country is hosting it that year, I believe the next one (2011) will be in Hawaii as Japan is the host country that year, but they cannot hold it in their country due to their gun laws.
There is also a European Zone Championships held at roughly the same time. Zone Championships are help on odd-number years, while World Championships are held on even-numbered ones. Hope that clarifies things a bit.
