An Australian Subscre of mine asked me if I knew a Bulet Mold maker named
Vareo Smith.
I had never heard the the name before but St. Google located such person in, Northern Idaho.
Being weak of eye I determined that there was such person with a web site. connected with bullets and other projectiles and/or the molds to use in casting such.

This might be of possible interest to folks who actually can see. I had a feeling that this was to be of greater interest to the centerfire crowd who do reloading.

Just a thought.

As suspected by @Dr5x looks like any mold from this company for traditional muzzleloading would have to be a custom build. Only advertised option I see for muzzleloaders is for a 44cal and use with sabots.

So, with out getting into a lot of details, I tried to do business with him several years ago. Talked to him on the phone, placed my order and sent him my money. It got to the point that he would not make my mold and would not send me my money back. So, I started a one man campaign to publicly embarrass him. To his credit, I had people he knew only on the net offer to give me my money back. I refused. It was a matter of principle, not money. Only when I filed a complaint with the US Post Office for mail fraud did he send me my money back. He is a convicted felon. If you do a search on his name you can find his criminal history.

While he might be a great guy, and might make a great mold. I did not have a good experience with him and would never do business with him again.

Dutch, I would send your AU guy to Buffalo Arms. Dave G. the owner is a friend of mine, and I have had his shop make my last bullet mold. They did it as designed and quickly. I highly recommend them.

Dutch, Veral Smith makes an excellent, but pricey mold. Closer to your subscriber's home is CBE (Cast Bullet Engineering) of NSW, Oz is another excellent choice.

About a decade ago, Veral Smith got into a shoving match with the IRS. I don't have to tell you who won. Him being employed in a firearms related industry may have influenced the Clinton era Gubermint's decision to give him some jail time. He got some bad advise from some people in his social circle, and stubbornly believed them. Many of us may have done that without having any consequences. Smith is a mould-maker par-excellence. He is known for making exactly the shape and diameter bullet your gun needs for best accuracy and performance. Having a custom mould cut to your gun's internal measurements at a fraction over the cost of "off-the-shelf" bullet moulds saves both time and money if you are serious about accuracy.

I had Smith (Lead Bullets Technology) cut a mould for my .45 caliber Dan Wesson based on a bore slug I mailed to him. I took about 2 months, but when I got the bullet mould I was very pleased. After buying several moulds that were "supposed to work" the LBT bullets were an exact fit in my rifle's bore with my 20 to 1 lead/tin alloy. Bullets drop almost effortlessly from the mould blocks and his exclusive sprue plate cuts sprues perfectly flush with the very square bullet base. The lube grooves hold just the right amount of lube and are deep enough to aid in perfect obturation. Finally after many many hundreds of dollars spent on moulds that did not perform, I had one that cast bullets that shot accurately pretty much with any load I tried.

I know this sounds like an Advertisement for LBT, but I recognise the value of having things that work. I have also had LBT make a conical mould for my 3rd Model Uberti "Dragoon" revolver. True to form, the bullets from it load easy and straight without having to remove the cylinder from the gun. As always accuracy is outstanding because the bullet fits. Don't ask LBT to make round ball moulds or hollow base ones. as he is not set up to do that. If you have a fast-twist rifle designed for elongated bullets or a cap & ball revolver with non-standard chamber/bore measurements, LBT's custom moulds will get you on target.
