I have a Leinad double barreled BP deringer. You know, those ugly ones with the black powder coat finish. Never thought much of it until I shot it over my chrongraph today. Loaded with a .433 dia ball and a .015 patch on top of 25 grains of 777. It clocked in the mid to high 600's generating an averag of 123 ft/lbs of pressure. This makes it a pretty deadly little pop gun. I'm discovering that 777 is the way to go with these little hideout guns.

I always wanted to get one of those. Is yours the sxs or over-under? If I remember correctly, they did both at one time. I don't think I would want one of the smokeless models because of the pressures generated, but the BP models would be fun toys.

Mine is the sxs model. Accuracy is marginal it being a smooth bore but at a few yards to contact distances it would be hard to miss a man size target. My only real beef with the gun is the cross bar safety that never functioned. I use a machine screw or a wooden peg to block the hammer. I believe it can be safely carried this way if placed in a snug holster. I've read some where that Leinad has gone out of business but I still see these guns on Gunbroker or Auctionarms once in a while. They recommend a .451 ball but that never seemed practical to me so I use the .433 balls with a patch and that works great.
