This is a public service announcement for the old geezer NMLRA members on here that don't do Facebook.....I'm one as well. My wife, who is a member and also does FB just told me that they (the nmlra) have announced on their FB page that shooter's registration fees are increasing starting with the June shoot.....pre-register to $70 and paid at the event $75.

Now you won't be surprised.....carry on.

And no one day shooter pass I bet. I go up there and shoot on Sunday. Woodswalk, running boar. Max 30 shots, one day, couple hours. They barely have to do any as we score the woods walk for them.

$2.50 a shot and I have to provide the ball, patch powder and cap as well? Uh not paying $75 to get on a list and a clip on shooter number.

Curiosity led me to check fees for a few other events. WINS $75 pre registered, $85 at the gate: Alafia Rendezvous $80: High Plains rendezvous $65 pre registered, $75 at the gate: Old Northwest rendezvous $60 preregistered, $70 at the gate: Rocky Mountain Rendezvous $50 preregistered, $60 at the gate. Some events have day fees but you have to register to shoot. No free lunch. If you have checked the price of lumber or eggs recently, they will really light your fire. Frontier's comment was right - it is pay to play.

I Live in New Zealand - I've been an NMLRA member since 1987 - I've only made Friendship twice; 1987 and 89; I have met some amazing people through being an NMLRA member. I believe their influence 'carries' a long way and helps Muzzleloading shooters Worldwide. I have no problem with their new fees. In many ways I wish I could contribute in a more physical way. At the current exchange rate my Kiwi Dollar is only worth 57cents US!!

Do you know if they have additional fees for shooting and camping at those events? I’ve never been to any of those but have been to Freindship where there is another $4-$8 for every match you enter plus $30 to $40 a night for camping. Plus your NMLRA membership fee to even be able or shoot there.

Most shoots near me are around $40-$50 for the weekend including everything, targets and camping.
I’d like to go to Freindship again but the cost makes the local events much more appealing.

At least at Friendship you can get blackpowder there at a reduced cost.
Ohio Rusty ><>
There are a lot of benefits of going to the national shoots. Unfortunately it seems they are pricing folks out of shooting. For many there, shooting to win is not the only thing to do. Many it is family competition for example. Not a medal or ribbon.

At Rocky Mountain Westerns, the price covered camping and shooting. That's for a week+ of fun. Cheaper than a night in a motel. The money mostly covers the insurance and rental on the porta potties.
NMLRA has been the worst shooting deal for years. When is the last time the organization was audited?
