Here one that I use, Somebody said thay use a Wrist pin from a engine piston. I would think any round and hard steel could be used.The one i have has dixon on it and I don't know where it came from.

All you have to do is sharpen your scraper good and sharp put it in a vice and push the sharp edge back away from the side that you sharpened. I do it in three or four passes. scapers work great for end grain and finishing up inleting work. :imo:

Most places suggest a glass-smooth, extra hard ROUND burnisher to get that burr formed. You'll develop your own preference with time, but I've used everything from a file hilt, valve stem, screwdriver shaft, and even a specialty (expensive) diamond burnisher. None work much better than any other, and in actual practice if your shop looks anywhere near as cluttered as mine, you'll wind up grabbing the first chunk of smooth, hard steel that's within reach.
