Looking for a 28 cal rb mould, prefer Lee. Any ideas,
I bought a half stock rifle with a Bill Large barrel. it was advertised as a 32 cal. ended up being a 28 cal. Now I need a mould or shot. I can buy ready made shot from TOTW @ $1.49 a shot (yikes) plus shipping. Bore measures .29--- #2 buck shot .27, I guess a really thick patch is in order.

Ah, I thought I saw a .280 in their lineup. I was wrong. Goes from .270 to .290.

I would try the .270 and experiment with some thicker patching material.

Next best thing IMO would be a custom mold from James at ballmoulds.com

I went to Ballistic and bought the 2 1/2 buck for my 30 cal. rifle with W. Large barrel. worked great and with 8 pounds I will not run out. try the #2 buck at .27. steg49

Thank you
How thick a patch did you use

I'll double check in the AM, but I think I was using a patch that was .14 thick. No trouble loading it and I was using 10 gr. FFF, like shooting a 22 rifle but more fun. steg49

I made a Baltic bird rifle the Cal being 270 so presume number two buck might work? . I got up a rude mould in soap stone mould should make a cherry to cut a gang mould but I used a 20 thou patch so it' s way undersize as it is but shoots OK . We don't have Squirrels here. But have rabbits .Fun rifles and cheap to run .I once made a charrecture 9" or so 1ong 77 cal flint Jager rifle just a toy loaned to friend who worked at a coal pit to shoot mice . So any 22 air rifle barrel might suit with the waisted pellet which is was we shot in the 177 novelty .

I had to get a odd size ball mold and went with Callahan bag mold. They are here in the U.S. and I was impressed with the work. I modified mine by putting wood grips on the handle. I can dig up the contact info if you need it.

I appreciate your help. If it's not a bother I would like that. If it's a lot of work don't worry about it as I have an appt with a machinist in the morning that said he can build one. All I need to do is supply the blanks.

Thank you for the help.

My mold was $78.00 shipped.
Keep in mind he is a one man operation and may take a little while to get back to you. I was impressed with what I got. It had an integrated sprew cutter also. Very much like the molds in the 18th and 19th century.

@Dsw I just looked at TOTW you put the decimal in the wrong place, it's .1459 per ball(14.59per 100) plus shipping. $1.49 per ball is $149 per hundred
I stand corrected. I noticed that error after I sent it. Need to proof better. What a dumb ass I am.
Thank you
