I found a Pedersoli .54 Target Hawken in a barrel in a gun shop where they only talk AR/AK. The gun was pristeen except for a rusted bore for $100. I talked them down to $75 and shipped it to Bob Hoyt for a rebore to a 1-54 twist in .58 caliber. I had it back in 10 days. It shoots GREAT! He is a gentleman who knows his business and the world should be glad he exists. Thank you Mr. Hoyt!

Was at his shop last week. Such a cool place.

I Love his shop I've been there to drop off and pickup what a great smell of cutting oil and you should see his gun building cabin next door. :thumb:

I had Bobby bore a 54cal barrel out to 58cal, both rifled. When I got the barrel back, I did a pre-shoot cleaning and noticed the jag felt wonky going in and out of the bore about 2/3 of the way down, like a zig-zag or something. I shot it, it shot great, but had that zig-zag going on. I called and talked to Bobby early one morning and he said send it back to him. When he checked it, there was indeed a problem of uncertain origin so he called me and asked if I wanted it bored and sleeved to correct the problem. I said yes and he did and sent me a perfect barrel for no extra charge. Great guy to deal with!

I just got my first Bob Hoyt refreshed barrel back for my T/C Renegade. I had great luck in communicating with him. Called before I sent it, discussed options based on rifling inspection and he asked me to include them written. Called him again to make sure he'd received it only to find out he'd already completed the refresh as on the day he received it, the machine was already set for a .54. It was already done and on its way home. Going out to shoot it Monday. Looks great and great to work with Mr. Hoyt. Already planning on sending him another T/C barrel in .50 cal.

Did not mean to cast a shadow of negativity just frustration. Mr Hoyt did tell me the last I talked with him is that he was having problems getting his money from barrels that were sent back to the owners, that is why I sent him a check with my barrels.
I am not sure why you would buy those barrels in the first place? Cheap price? Sometimes we are our own worst enemies. IMHO
