image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg This is a replica of a Scottish Murdoch and hasnt yet had the touch hole drilled. It has had a flint in and checked for sparking.
Was bought from Dixie a few years ago.
$300 to your door.
Here is Dixies ad on these.

An exact copy of an Alexander Murdock pistol. Murdock produced firearms in Scotland around the 1770's. All steel, very decorative, not vented - NON FIREABLE. Fullstock, steel, bright finish with steel frame, and ram horn butt. Caliber is .52 smoothbore. Tapered round w/bands & octagon muzzle. No sights. Flintlock, single shot, steel furniture, bright. Has silver nameplate on grips. Single ball trigger. Belt hook w/pierced base. Recommended load 30 grains FFFg powder with .510 round ball and .015 patching. Imported.

Question:
Reviews I read are mixed, stating the barrel is dovetailed into the receiver but can be easily removed and one says the barrel is brazed in place.
Can you tell without actually taking it apart?
I found these on Dixie and 3 other places, prices vary greatly but all appear to be the same imported pistol without touch hole drilled.
Do you know if these are all the same pistol?

Grizz, I really don’t know if they are all the same. This is totally unmarked. I just took the lock off and it appears to me that the barrel is dovetailed in there. I didnt try to remove it though. Without looking inside I doubt you could tell how its mounted.
