Went by BACK CREEK GUN SHOP In Winchester VA yesterday April 4 and they have 4 1000 pc. boxes of musket caps on the shelf.
Until about 15 minutes after your post! Just joking! The big Spring meet is there soon, so they would want to have a good stock! The N-NSA has their own powder magazine, and probably a good stock of caps for their own participants.
Dale one of my favorites also. Still have some supplys but after that all gone i will just have casings.Found some in Wisconsin at Fleet Farm... first time I have ever seen them there. Plenty of #11 caps there as well. Shortages never last forever... though it has been some time since I last saw factory .38 S&W unmentionables for sale.
Well, this is the wrong forum, but they can be reloaded. Oh, I see you are in the UK... reloading is probably illegal there. It was a common cartridge in the WWII era English lend-lease revolvers, loaded with 200 grain projectiles. These were also known as .38/200 cartridges. Can you find old military surplus ammo?Dale one of my favorites also. Still have some supplys but after that all gone i will just have casings.
Holy smokes, sounds like your a fur piece from Winchester! I am in Harpers Ferry and that is where I go for powder. Fine gentleman owns the farm.Went by BACK CREEK GUN SHOP In Winchester VA yesterday April 4 and they have 4 1000 pc. boxes of musket caps on the shelf.
I was mis-informed! Thanks for setting me straight! The N-SSA doesn't have a powder magazine or sell caps & powder. The members usually buy from Back Creek Gun Shop which is privately owned.

Yeah, unless you win the lottery or find an inflation hedge, we'll all be doing less shooting I suspect...The old prices are gone forever, though.
my local gun shop has plenty of Tophat musket caps, the problem seems to be #10, and 11 pistol caps are next to impossible to find. And if you do find them the price is outrageous.Went by BACK CREEK GUN SHOP In Winchester VA yesterday April 4 and they have 4 1000 pc. boxes of musket caps on the shelf.
I was traveling to and from NJ. Past couple trips I've stopped by to get a small stock of powder each trip. Nice finding somewhere to get it without having to scramble and pay out the nose when you do find it.Holy smokes, sounds like your a fur piece from Winchester! That's where brother Steve and I go too, nice folks. I'm just across the river from you. I recently snagged some large pistol primers at a local shop, first time for in quite a while since they had any. I had been saving the 400 or so primers I had stashed for emergencies. Since I can replenish my supply again I'm going to load up some nice pleasant .44 Specials using bullets cast up around 10 years or so ago and knock the dust off the old S&W. 629.Holy smokes, sounds like your a fur piece from Winchester! Expensive-naw. You can get tins of 100 #10 caps for "only" $50.00 a tin but you have to buy three tins to get this "good" price.my local gun shop has plenty of Tophat musket caps, the problem seems to be #10, and 11 pistol caps are next to impossible to find. most of the local gun shops around Dallas have .38 S&W (long) on the shelvesFound some in Wisconsin at Fleet Farm... first time I have ever seen them there. Plenty of #11 caps there as well. Don't believe there is any such cartridge. There is a .32 S&W Short and Long, a .38 S&W and a .38 S&W Special... but this is the wrong place to discuss such things I guess.most of the local gun shops around Dallas have .38 S&W (long) on the shelves
