Hello, all! Haven't really posted here in s long while and now getting back into the hobby after a very long absence from it. I thought it would be nice to share a finished project I made - a barracks rack for muskets. I wanted something very "frontier-made" by a craftsman/soldier at an outpost. Machined down square bolts and washers, etc.:

I like the old look and how the rifles show off their tops instead of their trigger guards. Not big on chains in trigger guards either, prefer a locked door to the room myself.

Thank you for the kind comments. I'd like to do another one someday. I'm pretty careful with the chain. I run it through quite slowly, But I really never remove them from the rack. If the threat of hostilities occur, I'll remove the chain from them and just keep them ready to go!

VERY DROOL! oh did say DROOL, I meant COOL! yeh Shure I did! a rely impressive collection of rocklocks. are any of them original?

I had the experience one year on a tour of the governors mansion in Williamsburg to actually handle a documented bess that was used in the revolution. Then we toured the armory and got to handle one of Wallace Gunther's first guns he made at Williamsburg. I guess the Angles were on my side that day. Both tour guides were excellent in their presentations. I felt like a giddy headed school girl, all the wife could say they are just guns are they not.

Fun store i frequent uses a cable thru the trigger guard. Cable is clear plastic coated to avoid scratches. Hooked ito lag bolts in the wall.
