Those of you who frequent the Pre-Flintlock forums know about the series of videos I'm been making using the arms in my collection as examples. Since the later videos are beyond the time period in that forum, I figured I should post them here. I had just uploaded Part 6: The Flintlock.

Part 3 hasn't been uploaded yet because I want to include the big 1570's 8-bore Matchlock Musket that is currently under construction.

Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBHSuDGvOrI

Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBcTjoDJzhk

Part 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydywmvx8oOU

Part 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4k-Lm30-nAw

Part 6 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hDiqklT12A

Mini vid showing Flintlock\Matchlock Musket + Snaphaunce http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTFSA4QfEzw

I'm not going to show any shooting videos since there are enough of them on Youtube. I wanted to focus on the design aspects of our favorite arms.

I hope you enjoy them!

Sorry I didn't reply the other night but thanks for taking the time to do this. I watched all the videos you uploaded. I learned a few things!

Very interesting explanation of the progression over the centuries.

IF you are interested in taking this to a higher level, such as something the History Channel/Military Channel might show, a few of recommendations:

1) Professional grade video and lighting
2) Work from a script for the audio while a second person highlights the particular points with a pointer or finger
3) Perhaps a live fire demo at the end of each historical segment?
4) Brief explanation for each segment of technology advance in context of advantage and disadvantages.

Just my opinion, but you have the basis for an interesting program worthy of more than You Tube...just needs a little polish and structure.

Thanks for your time and effort regardless!

Thanks for the kind words (you too Swampy)!

I'm using a very small olympus camera that I got as a 15th anniversary gift at my job a few months ago. So I wasn't expecting to make some of the truly gorgeous videos that other make.

I only did the videos because I haven't been seeing anything on Youtube that shows the evolution of the various types of muzzleloaders. More modern types yes, but not so much with our beloved charcoal burners.

I'm itching to do Part 3: The Matchlocks since that one will have my Matchlock Arquebus, the big 16th Century Musket (under construction), and my two 17th century muskets.
