I'm new to black powder and thought I'd make a patch knife. I found a sad Ontario knife

and repurposed it.

That's my first knife ever. Then I made this sheath. It's my first sheath ever. :haha:

looks good to me. i have a few that are old hickery's. good steel. those tips do get hot fast, don't they. keep up the good work

I'd definitely call that an improvement!

I kind of have a similar plan in mind for this old meat cleaver that's been laying in the old shed for about the last fifteen years. It's of no use to anyone the way it is, but I think it would make a damn good belt knife - a project for after I get the stuff to fire the forge up.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Both knife and sheath look great. It is satisfying when you set out to recycle something, and it pays off. Good job there.

"Recycling" it does my heart good. I like the pewter diamonds too, say they from an old cup or something and really make my day. Overall I'd say good job  ...Bud
