one thing in this hobby i have a great weakness for are knives. i love reworking old table and butcher knives into something a bit more stylish. these are the ones i liked the best out of what i have done this year so far and am going to keep. i have to make sheaths for all but two of them, the last one and second one have one already. i posted some before pics of the case legbone knife before it was stained. i dont think a person can have too many knives.

first knife is an old case xx with a deer legbone handle and rawhide wrap.

second is another case xx with a deer antler crown handle.

third is an unmarked old butcher wtih a mule deer crown section with a rawhide wrap to cover a genuine booboo i made when slottong the tang.

fourth is an unmarked beef skinner i reshaped to a smaller profile similar to a nessmuk. it has curly ash handles stained with auqa fortis.

fifth is a small forged dagger with simple guard and steel pommel and a deer tine handle.

last is an original j russell table knife with bone scales and steel bolsters.

they are some handy blades i feel swampy. ill be carrying it and the big butcher a lot. the last one i have had for a long time and use as a neck knife. i stripped the ash and used the mix you sent me to redo the handles. worked great.

thanks guys. im thinking about forging some of my own blades. the dagger was forged by a friend of mine, the rest were all old knives i fixed up. the little j russell is the only one i didtn do anything to. it was nice working with a forged one. hes helping me do an re davis hawk and i think i will build me a forge, not just for knive but im liking making these smoking hawks too.
